True Wave® heaters combine carbon and ceramic in a proprietary design. Micro-thin carbon fibers (1/1000th the thickness of a human hair) are layered with our patented ceramic compound. These layers alternate with a woven substrate, then combine under high heat and pressure to create one heater at a time.
Each heater undergoes rigorous testing for several hours. We measure electrical draw, surface temperature, and EMF output in twelve different spots.
The carbon generates long-wave far infrared heat that penetrates deeper into the body. The ceramic provides high infrared output, allowing us to concentrate heat directly on your body core.
Our carbon/ceramic heaters deliver almost no EMF emissions. Through our patent-pending technology, we have minimized electromagnetic field exposure to nearly zero.

The larger size of our True Wave® heaters means more surface area and lower surface temperature. Planck’s Law and Wien’s Law prove that lower heater surface temperature produces longer infrared wavelengths with greater therapeutic effectiveness.
Our heaters perform optimally within the wavelength range of 6 to 12 microns with a significant portion at 9.4 microns. The human body absorbs the most infrared heat at 9.4 microns.
Your body emits and absorbs far infrared waves. The human body produces far infrared waves between 6 to 20 microns. The ideal output range for an infrared heater is 6 to 12 microns, which aligns with the resonant frequency of a water molecule and the optimal absorption rate of the human body. Our bodies are nearly 70% water.
When far infrared waves interact with water molecules, these molecules oscillate. This oscillation weakens ion bonds, and the breakdown of water molecules leads to the release of trapped gases and other harmful substances.

When far infrared from a high-quality heater reaches the 9.4 micron range, a subtle resonant frequency increases the expulsion of toxins. The toxins are eliminated through the three main organs of elimination (urine, feces, and exhalation) or directly through the skin.

They have found that a lower temperature sauna (105-125°F) for a longer period is most beneficial. Lower temperatures stimulate a fat sweat, which helps eliminate toxins stored in fat.

Every heater we build is doctor-designed and relies on studies to guide our decisions. When evaluating a material for its ability to emit far infrared heat, we measure emissivity. Emissivity ranges from 0 (shiny mirror) to 1.0 (blackbody).
Ceramic has an emissivity of .95, the closest to a perfect blackbody at 1.0. This is why the patented ceramic compound in our True Wave® heaters is essential.

One of the most important questions as it determines the size of the infrared wavelength and the overall effectiveness of the heater. The two scientific principles that govern infrared emissions are called Planck’s Law and Wien’s Law. Both of these scientific laws have an equation with several constants and the only variable is the surface temperature of the heater. In short, the lower the surface temperature of the heater, the longer the infrared wave will be and the more effective the infrared heat will be for you.
A key difference between sweating and effective detoxification in an infrared sauna is increasing the thermal energy in your body. The goal is to find a sauna that heats both the back and front of your body, so you can reap as many benefits without increasing the thermal energy in your body. Many saunas on the market today leave the front heaters out or have very small front heaters for aesthetic reasons. Our Clearlight True Wave™ heaters are positioned so that they cover your full back area whilst the front heaters are positioned directly at your front core. By positioning heaters correctly, your sauna is able to warm your body core and increase thermal energy.
Traditional carbon heaters, while they produce high quality infrared heat, they lack enough concentration of that heat on your body. These particular heaters work well within a few inches of your body but not in a large sauna cabin. The heaters are also often times positioned over your head and are predominantly heating the sauna cabin air. Due to the fact that infrared heat travels in a straight line, your sauna heater should direct heat toward your body core, not just into the air around you.
Maybe you have seen many heaters on the market that have a thin, single rod with a metal reflector behind it. Generally, these heaters produce low quality far infrared heat when compared to a large flat panel far infrared heater. First, a single rod heater must run at a much higher surface temperature than a large flat radiant heater to produce sufficient infrared heat. The higher the surface temperature the less effective the far infrared heat will be.
