Product Manager Job Description

 

The Product Manager’s responsibilities are to search out, gather, and prioritize product details, specs and pricing. In addition to the knowledge gathered about the product(s), this position requires knowing the market requirements, competition and market space is key to a successful product launch. This person needs to understand why customers buy our products as well as what the competition is doing.

A product manager is the person who identifies the customer needs and the larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfill, articulate what success looks like for a product, and rallies a team to turn that vision into a reality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain “Accessories/Product” website through Shopify platform
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Drive product launches including working with sales team, executives, and other product management team members
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in product management and/or in a sales capacity
  • Manage website details and content for Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working experience with sales techniques
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Proven ability to plan and manage resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NetSuite a HUGE plus
  • Shopify Experience a HUGE plus
  • Ability to deliver presentations
  • Organized and self-sufficient

Salary: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
